St. Joseph’s Workers

St. Joseph’s Workers are available to assist our parishioners with help on small home repairs or tasks that need your attention.  This ministry is for the benefit of all parishioners who seek our help.

We realize that some have families who are grown and moved away from the area.  There may be no one to call for support with a household task.  Perhaps you are willing to do the work but are physically unable.  Yet, the task at hand is too cost-prohibitive to call a contractor, plumber, or electrician. St. Joseph’s Workers are here to help!

We have a handful of volunteers supported by the St. Vincent DePaul Society and our Knights of Columbus council with a broad range of skill sets.

Do you need a hand with:

  • Change a few light bulbs
  • Repair of a leaky faucet
  • Replacing a light switch
  • Removing and store window air conditioner
  • Changing a doorknob
  • Help with Christmas tree lights or lights in your attic in preparation for the holidays

We do want to emphasize that this is not a charity! You do not need to meet minimum income requirements to solicit the St. Joseph’s Workers.  We are volunteering our assistance because it is the Christian thing to do.  We feel it is important to strengthen the bond of our parish family beyond a nod to a friendly face at Sunday Mass.

To reach a  volunteer, call the parish office at 570-645-2664 and select Option 12 to connect to the St. Joseph’s Worker’s mailbox.  Someone will return your message within 24 hours.

Also, if you would like to volunteer to help, please call the same number listed above and leave a message.
